New Music: Brian Angel (of Day 26) Releases New Track ‘Killa’ Featuring Dorrough

07/30/12, NEW MUSIC

Fresh off the announcement of Day 26′s breakup, founding member Brian Angel releases a brand new song featuring Texas rapper Dorrough. A upbeat, synth heavy track titled “Killa.”

WLE: Brian, talk to us about ‘KILLA.” What is a ‘KILLA?’

BA: “Killa” talks about how beautiful a woman is to you. She’s so gorgeous to the point where she’s a “killa.” Instead of saying “she’s fly” or whatever, I want to start a whole new trend by saying “she’s a killa.” I’d like that! I’d like to be a trendsetter.

WLE: Where do you see R&B heading in the near future?

BA: I have respect for everybody, and for what they do and what they’re doing. Chris, Omarion, Trey, doing their thing. I grew up in an era where R&B was different. I miss it. It’s changed a lot. It’s not dead; it just needs to go back to the essence of R&B.

WLE: Speaking of direction, we hear you’re under new management now!

BA: Yes, yes, I am. I’m under GREAT new management. My manager’s name is Mic Moodswing. I’ve known him since I was like 15.

WLE: What kind of legacy would you like to leave?

BA: I would want people to remember me as a very nice guy. Brave. Humble. Someone that was very easy going, and laid back. Musical. And a great father. Just someone that was a blessing to whoever’s life I came into.

WLE: Any final thoughts for us?

BA:
I just want to thank everyone who supported Day 26 – thank you for supporting all the endeavors. I’m nothing without you.
