Dwele Releases Album – Greater Than One – And New Single – Obey

Dwele released his new album Greater Than One today (itunes and amazon). Following his single “What Profit,” and the well done collabo with fellow soul man Raheem DeVaughn on “What You Gotta Do,” the Detroit bred singer/musician shares the second single “Obey.”

The Detroit singer’s fifth album has an ’80s vibe with rich melodies and warm harmonies. But the multi-instrumentalist (horns, drums, keyboards) is about much more than ambience as his songwriting rises above the usual pickup tales to deal creatively with an array of relationship issues including commitment (Good Leaving), the cost of seeking greener grass (What Profit) and nurturing a love affair (What You Gotta Do). — Steve Jones (s)
